Abstract
Drying using forced hot air circulation through the bed has been found to be very satisfactory for
drying of shelled cashew kernels instead of conventional Borma drying. Besides saving in labour,
through flow drier can finish drying in 3 hours at 80"C resulting in satisfactory peeling ease and good
quality cashewnuts. By employing higher bed thickness and cashew shell as fuel. industrial scale
economical driers can be fabricated.
