Additional Information: | In the present study four PLAB(LCR,LMR,LP,PP) and four food borne pathogens (Ec,EF,SP,PS) were taken. Gram staining of all the eight culture was performed. It shows that the PLAB cultures were Gram positive bacilli and Pathogens were Gram negative. The culture LCR were selected among the four cultures based upon their growth rate, Protein estimation, moisture content. Screening of the cultures was conducted by performing antimicrobial activity of all the 4PLAB cultures against all the 4pathogens and LCR showed good activity against Ec hence both of them were used for this study. The LCR, Ec, and co-culture LCR with Ec were done by SDS PAGE for proteins and the bands were checked for molecular weights. LCR, Ec were also observed under scanning electron microscope. The media was optimized for maximum growth of Ec culture. Ec culture grew maximum in Ec specific media as compared to BHI and nutrient media. On co-culturing the LCRhas killing effect on the EC cells. A killing rate of 100% for found. This was identified by plating and by SEM. In enzyme glucosidase in Ec was found to reduce on co-culturing with LCR.In fatty acid LCR produced highly useful compounds but Ec produced toxic compounds. This toxic compound was reduced under co-culturing and other useful compounds were produced. In Ec highly carcinogenic volatile compound was detected whereas in LCR many useful compounds were observed.with co-culturing the toxicity of Ec was found to reduce along with the production of other useful compounds. Study with the animal intestine shows that the intestine and fecal sample contained a lot of Ec and countable PLAB. On addition of LCR to the intestine and fecal sample it was found to reduce. This was identified by plating the cultures on respective specific media and SEM analysis. |
