Abstract

Unsheared DNA has been isolated from Rhodoforuh and Rhodosporidium yeasts using a cell-wall-digesting enzyme preparation horn Paecifomyces Mucks. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis indicated that at least 11 chromosomes were present in Rhodof. gruciZis ATCC 90950. The DNA was amenable to digestion with restriction enzymes.
