Abstract

In laboratory tests of methyl iodide as a fumigant for 2 stored-product pests, the LD50's (in mg/litre) were 1.02 for the egg, 1.04, 0.52 and 0.56 for the second to fourth larval instars, respectively, 0.39 for the pupa and 1.62 for the adult of Sitophilus oryzae (L.) and 0.006 for the egg, 0.09 and 0.20 for early and late larval instars, respectively, 0.21 for the pupa and 1.66 for the adult of Callosobruchus chinensis (L.).
