Abstract

When the powders of dried fruits or rhizomes of 6 plants (amla (Phyllanthus emblica (Emblica officinalis)), halda (Chloroxylon swietenia), ginger, turmeric, kachura (Kaempferia galanga) and arrowroot (Curcuma angustifolia)) and oleoresins extracted from 5 plants (ginger, kachura, arrowroot, black pepper (Piper nigrum) and red chillies (Capsicum annuum)) were tested in the laboratory as synergists for pyrethrins for the control of adults of Tribolium castaneum (Hbst.), all were found to increase the residual toxicity of the insecticide.
