Abstract

This Dissertation / Report is the outcome of investigation carried out by the creator(s) / author(s) at the department/division of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore mentioned below in this page.

Item Type: Student Project Report
Additional Information: Every R&D Institute has to survive and produce in a tightly competitive environment and CFTRI is no exception. The only factor separating it from the block is that at CFTRI, the projects are not profit‐oriented but are rather for the development of the food industry of India and provide sufficient methods for making each and every citizen of the nation healthy for survival. The Objective of this project is to develop different predictive models using a certain Data Mining software that is already present at CFTRI and using a database that consists of useful information required by the Planning, Monitoring and Coordinating Department of CFTRI so as to create an awareness about the advantages and versatility of data mining for further use at similar projects and create a simplified, consistent, fast and reliable mode for decision making and generating an altogether different approach for the top‐line management at CFTRI. This would provide a cutting edge advantage to CFTRI and will certainly make it a lot more easier to direct the time and energy of the numerous bright brains currently working at CFTRI. The models are based on a number of interpretations drawn from the database with the help of different tools at disposal via the data mining interface.
