Abstract

Chitin bindingactivityofmoringaseedresistantprotein(MSRP) isolated fromdefattedmoringaseed flour wasinvestigatedinthe present study “Characterizationofsolubledietary fiber from Moringa oleifera seeds anditsimmunomodulatoryeffects” (S. Anudeep, V.K.Prasanna,S.M.Adya,C.Radha,2016)[1].Theassay reaction mixturecontained0.4mg/mlofMSRPanddifferent amounts (20–100mg)ofchitin.MSRPexhibitedbindingactivity overwiderangeofchitinconcentration.Maximumbindingactiv- ity wasobservedat80mgofchitin.ThepropertyofMSRPtobind chitin canbeexploitedforitspurification.
