Additional Information:
Looking to the current scenario of the world sweetener market, there is a boon for low calorie and low carbohydrate foods. There has been a significant increase in the awareness and consumer preference for Natural non-nutritive sweeteners over the artificial or synthetic sweeteners. Many new Natural non-nutritive sweeteners are coming into focus due to ever increasing demand and thoughts for having a safest sweetener for human health. Global market for these sweeteners is increasing day by day. There is a considerable rise in the economics of the Natural non- nutritive sweetener industry. So in order to have safe Natural nonnutritive sweetener in the near future we have to depend mostly on biotechnological techniques for their production. Biotechnological production of natural nonnutritive sweeteners may be done by using Mass multiplication of callus from explants, Biotransformations, Hairy root cultures etc and scale up done by using bioreactors for industrial production. Though these are still in an initial laboratory scale productions, but they may acquire a fine edge over the chemical means of extractions in the near future.
