Abstract

method has been standardized to estimate small quantities of food intake by larvae fed on flours using diets mixed with calcium phosphate labelled with *%alcium. Employing this method, the early instar larvae of Corcyra cephalonica and Tribolium castaneum were found to consume more diet per unit weight than the older ones. Pyrethrum and zirum mixed with the diets at 1 to 3 per cent levels inhibited the diet intake of C. cephalonica larvae.
