Abstract
Tbe PER of a pOor kattir corn diet cPKD) increased to a bighly significant extent from 2.04 to 2.95 as a result ot supplementation with L-1ysin8. Addition ot threonine and methionine along with lysine brought about a sl1gnt further increase' in PER to 3.24. The results are at considerable importance to developing countries, as they ha"e shown that the protein quality of poor kaffir corn diets could be etfectively improved by fortification with. lysine.
