Abstract
Research accomplishments of the past 3 decades in India are reviewed. The aspects dealt with are: pre-harvest prophylaxis for stored food grains; insect proofing of gunny bags and coffee in storage by the ballooning technique; non-toxic grain protectants such as activated earth, tricalcium phosphate and bacterial insecticide (spores of Bacillus thuringiensis); infestation control in rural storages; and development of manpower in disinfestation research and application.
