Abstract
Tomato juice, lime juice, grapes in syrup, pineapple chunks in syrup, curried vegetables and beans in brine were each canned in cans treated as follows: with Arya lining compound M.30; with can sealing composition NRDC patent no. 66194; and with the normal lining compound used by The Metal Box Co. Ltd., who supplied all the cans. Results are given of can examinations (at regular intervals over a period of 12 months) for vacuum, organoleptic quality, and Fe and Sn contents. The performance of the indigenous lining compounds was found to be satisfactory.
