Abstract

An improved bioassay for concentrations of the fumigant acrylonitrile is described, using adults of Sitophilus oryzae (L.) in 20-ml syringes as test insects [see RAE/A 63, 84]. A linear relationship was demonstrated between knockdown time and concentration of the fumigant when plotted on a logarithmic scale.
