Abstract
For 6 weeks, 8 groups of 6 male albino Wistar rats 8 days old and weighing 65 g were freely given a semipurified diet (crude protein 9%), with casein 11% and ragi husk (Eleusine coracana) or cellulose 5, 10, 15 or 20%. Feed:gain ratio was 0.237, 0.265, 0.254 and 0.246 for ragi husk, and 0.234, 0.228, 0.225 and 0.219 for cellulose, with 5, 10, 15 and 20%, respectively.
