Additional Information:	As microalgae have multiple uses, the present investigation focused on collection of water samples from fresh water bodies in Mysore city to know the types of microalgae present in water bodies and also to evaluate known species of microalgae for their sensitivity to Basta (glufosinate ammonium, C15H15N2O4P), a herbicide. This study has implication to select proper plasmids for exploiting these microalgal potential through genetic transformation.
