Abstract

This Dissertation / Report is the outcome of investigation carried out by the creator(s) / author(s) at the department/division of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore mentioned below in this page.

Item Type: Student Project Report
Additional Information: Semolina is a major product of wheat milling process. Its moisture should be reduced for extending the shelf life. Shelf life of semolina is less compared to other products of wheat. Due of poor shelf life, industry and houseold suffers loss during storage. This has created a lot of set back to industries, domestic purpose etc. The semolina is produced on large scale in most of the flour mills using various machines namely First break and Purifier. The designed online air heater is assembled to the vibrator. Purifier receives the ground wheat as input which is passed through sieving plates. The semolina mixture, containing different sized grains is filtered and collected in the vibrating tray. The fine semolina which satisfies the quality requirement goes for packing and the remaining is further processed. The heat is transferred from the air heater to the tray which in turn is absorbed by the flowing semolina that results in reduction of moisture content up to 1%.
