Abstract

Presence of trans fatty acids in foods declines the
quality of food as the consumption of trans fatty acid
causes many health implications including coronary heart
diseases. Many countries around the world adopted
mandatory labeling the trans fatty acid content of food
products in the interest of consumers. Indian regulatory
body is soon going to implement the labeling of trans
fatty acid contents of fats and food products. The trans
fatty acid content data of food and
fat samples are required by consumers,
food industries, regulatory
bodies and importers to pass the
regulation.
