Abstract
Food conservation and technology are discussed with reference to: conservation of staple foods; field losses; insect damage; bird losses; rodent losses; storage losses; insect infestation control; improvements in processing technology of food grains e.g. rice, legumes and wheat; protein concentrates to stretch the supplies of cereals and tubers; spray-dried milk food stubstitutes for children; fish protein concentrates; fish processing; fruit and vegetable processing industry; modernization of food industries; research and development; and the future of food technology.
