Abstract

I N connection with the production of
synthetic grains from tapioca at this
Institute, the need arose for a supply
of high grade edible groundnut oilcake meal
or flour suitable for incorporating with
tapioca flour. In order to obtain a product
which would not develop rancidity on
storage, it was necessary to reduce the oil
content in the cake to the minimum. The
work on solvent extraction of oilsee,£l cakes
was undertaken with this end in view and
has resulted in the design and construction
of a pilot plant described in this paper.
