Abstract
Packaging and storage studies were carried out on mustard oil packed in pouches of (i) LDPE, (ii) Nylon-6 polyamide/Ionomer, (iii) polyester/HDPE-LDPE and (iv) metallized polyester/HDPE-LDPE and stored at accelerated (38C and 92% RH) and normal (27C and 65% RH) conditions. The shelf-life of oil was 20 days in (i), 60 days in (ii), 120 days in (iii) and >120 days in (iv) pouches under the accelerated conditions; under normal conditions the corresponding shelf-lives were 30 days in (i), 60 days in (ii) and >120 days in the polyester based materials.
