Abstract
Male and female albino rats were fed a stock diet containing aflatoxin (50 mug aflatoxin B/rat/day) during the entire mating, gestation, and lactation period of the females. No effect on the oestrus cycle of the adult female was observed. Litter size and birth weight were unaffected, but a significant increase was shown in intra-uterine foetal resorption in the pregnant rat. A significant decrease in weaning weight was observed in the group fed aflatoxin.
