Abstract

Cross inoculation studies with Pratylenchus coffeae from Coffea arabica and P. coffeae from Elettaria cardamomum on 7 host species revealed differences in reproduction and pathogenicity, although the 2 races could not be differentiated morphologically. P. coffeae from E. cardamomum was infective to C. arabica, but the rate of multiplication showed a negative trend and there was hardly any damage caused to the roots. E. cardamomum was immune to P. coffeae from C. arabica.
