Eprints@Cftri: Institutional Repository of Central Food Technological Research Institute - A Case Study

Eprints@CFTRI was established during 2004 using GNU EPrints software.
The mission of the repository is to collect, preserve and disseminate in digital
format the research output of the CFTRI community. This paper describes
the practical experiences gained during the establishment and evolution of
ePrints@ CFTRI. The paper also delineates at length about several issues
such as software installation and migration; digitization and OCRing, backup
strategy and also suggests solutions for these issues wherever possible.
Even though the IR is presently accessible only inside the campus, we have
plans of hosting on the internet making it as a vital communication channel
for the published R&D output of CFTRI
