Abstract

This Dissertation / Report is the outcome of investigation carried out by the creator(s) / author(s) at the department/division of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore mentioned below in this page.

Item Type: Student Project Report
Additional Information: Wheat is thoroughly cleaned and conditioned before start of the milling process. Wheat is made to pass through several machineries to remove impurities in the batch of grain. Machineries included are separator, de-stoner, disc separator, scourer, and magnet. During cleaning process, wheat is lifted by bucket elevators and allowed to pass through the series of machineries by gravity flow. Potential energy stored in the grain was used to drive the paddles of water wheel dampner. Small electricity generator retrofit kit was attached to the shaft of the water wheel dampner to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. Performance evaluation of the small generator checked and found that maximum voltage of 6.8V at 2040 Kg/hr of flow rate at an rpm of 61 The purpose of this project is to make environmental friendly, low cost energy generator for flourmill industry
Uncontrolled Keywords: Wheat; milling process; cleaning process; low cost energy generator
