Abstract

Degradalion of quinalphos was studied under laboratory conditions in soil following application @ 5 mg/kg. The degradation was carried out in sterile and non·sterile Soil samples. It was found that quinalphos residues progressively degraded with lime. More than 90% of quinalphos degraded within 40 days after treatment. The degradation was more in non-sterile sample than in sterile soil sample. Degradation pattern indicated that quinalphos was reduced from 80% to 12% in sterile soil sample, whereas 60% to 2% observed in non sterile soil samples at the end of the experiment.
