Abstract
The increase in coenzyme A in livers of vitamin B12 deficient and thyrotoxic rats is particularly marked in the mitochondrial fraction. The rise in mitochondrial coenzyme A is paralleled by enhanced oxidation of caprylate and palmitate_ The results point to a functional signi&cance of the elevated coenzyme A I_eve! in vitamin Bl2 deficiency.
