Abstract
An actMy respirinmg itochondrial fraction has been prepared from the cotyledons of Phaseolus w&ark. Mitochondria 8how ion uptake in the preseme of succinate as substrate but do not respond to ATP addition. Preseme of magnesium is not nweasary in the incubation medium for calcium uptake.
