Additional Information: <p align="justify">The main objective of the present investigation is to develop a suitable design for an Amla Grating Machine (shredding and deseeding) for the removal of flesh from the fruit effectively without much wastage and prepare drawings for the assembly and for the components. Design process starts as early as problem identification, also called as ideation and continuous till recycle of the developed item after performing efficient, satisfactory, cost effective tasks to meet the exact objectives for which designing been done. In the present work a problem of separating maximum pulp portion of Amla in the form of shreds without damaging seeds was taken to solve and to develop a suitable gadget. Amla shreds could be used for pickle preparation, pulp preparation and even to prepare Amla powder by dehydrating and grinding Amla shreds. Basically Amla is a agricultural produce, posing more constraints like heterogeneous in nature, varied physical characteristics (size, hardness, composition, pulp component, seed component etc.,) seasonal availability, seed with very high hardness when compared to pulp etc. Since Amla shreds are going to be used for edible and medicinal purposes. It poses a constraint to develop a hygienic system untouched by human elements during the process. Also acid content of fruit necessitates use of corrosion resistant materials in the design. Apart from the above constraints, gadget is likely to be used in rural areas by self help groups or by farmers, so it needs to be a simple design and easy to operate and maintain machine requiring a minimum investment.</p>
