Abstract
Miltone (a milk-peanut beverage) was prepared as described in FSTA (1971) 3 7G247. In weanling rats, protein efficiency ratios (PER) of Miltone, sterilized Miltone and Miltone cultured with lactic organisms respectively, were 2.73, 2.59 and 3.02 vs. 3.32 for milk.
