Abstract

This Dissertation / Report is the outcome of investigation carried out by the creator(s) / author(s) at the department/division of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore mentioned below in this page.

Item Type: Student Project Report
Additional Information: Many favorable biological and pharmacological effects with consumption of garlic preparations have been reported experimentally and clinically. Aged Garlic Extract is an odorless compound prepared by incubating in dilute alcohol for long time and has been reported to have pharmacologic effects, including immunomodulation. In the present study proteins from AGE have been purified. Purified AGE fractions shown to have mitogenic activity on rat splenocytes in vitro. Also induced considerable amounts of nitric oxide (NO) production on murine macrophages in vitro. Results indicate that purified protein components of AGE are possible immune modifier.
Uncontrolled Keywords: Aged Garlic Extract proteins macrophages lymphocytes
