Additional Information:	Studies have shown the antioxidant, antibacterial and antimutagenic activites of the aqueous and ethyl alcohol extracts from the barks of P.ferrugineum.The aim of the present study was to estimate flavones and flavonols and identify the phenolics in the aqueous acetone and ethyl alcohol extracts from the barks of P. ferrugineum. Aqueous acetone and ethyl alcohol extracts from the barks of P. ferrugineum were analyzed by HPLC and the chromatograms. The HPLC chromatograms of the extracts showed that the compounds are separated in the solvents used for extraction. The identity of chlorogenic acid and coumaric acid peaks in HPLC chromatograms of both the extracts were confirmed by determining the relative retention times and by spiking with the respective standards.
