Abstract

This Dissertation / Report is the outcome of investigation carried out by the creator(s) / author(s) at the department/division of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore mentioned below in this page.

Item Type: Student Project Report
Additional Information: The aim of the present investigation was to isolate potent LAB strains from different samples and evaluate for their probiotic attributes. Among the isolates, Gram positive rods (probable Lactobacillus strains) were selected for studies on their antimicrobial properties against common food borne pathogens. Potent isolates were identified using their biochemical characteristics. The idea was to use the isolated probiotic strains as starter cultures in fermentation processes for their potential health benefits.
