Abstract
High fat consumption leads to accumulation of lipids in hepatic and extra hepatic tissues including adipose tissues. Which in turn changes metabolism as well as synthesis and secretion of inflammatory and adipokinese which mediates in the development of various metabolic disorders such as diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia etc., The current study is focused on the biomarker due to consumption of high fat fed animals (mice) and their amelioration after treatment with wheat germ oil concentrate. Some of the biomarker used in the studies were TNF-α, TGF-β, and Resistin. Whose expressions were increased in serum of high fat fed group, treatment with wheat germ oil concentrate reduced their expression at different levels. We have also carried out differentially expression of the serum proteins and showed the one protein differential expression. The gene expressions were also conducted in adipose tissues wherein IL2, Fatty acid synthase (FAS) and NFKB-kappa. Amelioration of these genes was observed in the wheat germ oil concentrate treated group. The result clearly indicates the wheat germ oil concentrate or fractions have health beneficial effect and can be used to prepare healthy functional foods.
