Abstract
The importance of inclusion complex formation by cyclodextrins is discussed with respect
to their characteristics as potential enzyme mimics in various synthetic applications in organic
chemistry. The principal applications centre around their use as reaction vessels, enzymes, and chiral
discriminators.
