Abstract
In designing a package that is both functional and economical, a
number of factors have to be taken into consideration, such as
packaging characteristics of the product, the material used for
packaging and cushioning, size and shape of package, and orientation of the contents. Investigations undertaken at this Institute
have led to certain useful findings which are presented in this article.
