Abstract
Abstract
The author has made an attempt to develop an alternative
method of sealing stainless steel containers with stainless
steel lid; also used open top sanitary cans with stainless
steel lid using hot pack and creation of vacuum seal by
methods described as "Press-in and Push-over". The airtightness
was tested by exposure to 20" vacuum and
exposure to ammonia. Necessary sketch and diagram has
been provided. The author proposes concept of stainless
steel container as an alternative to open top sanitary cans,
as stainless steel containers can be reused. He has also
proposed the concept of recycling the stainless steel
container by giving examples of recycling of bottles in
aerated drink industry.
