Abstract

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) fruits contain 0.3-1.5% volatile oil. 15 coriander fruit samples collected from India were analysed by chromatographic techniques; samples from Mysore contained 26.5% geranyl acetate vs. 1.7% in other samples. The floral odour of Mysore coriander is attributed to this high content of geranyl acetate.
