Abstract
Prevalence of fungal contamination in dates collected from different geographical regions of Andhra Pradesh, India, was analysed. The pattern of distribution of fungal contaminants differed both in quality and quantity in different date samples. Aspergillus, Penicillium and Fusarium spp. were the dominant fungi detected. Toxigenicity determined in samples varied with different fungal sp. and geographical origin of dates.
