Abstract

This Dissertation / Report is the outcome of investigation carried out by the creator(s) / author(s) at the department/division of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore mentioned below in this page.

Item Type: Student Project Report
Additional Information: Natural antioxidants are thought to prevent or slow down free radical induced oxidative stress, therefore, posses’ health promoting potential. Comparison of antioxidant properties of the extracts T.arjuna, A.marmelos, Camellia sinensis and D.hamiltonii were studied. All showed high antioxidant potential. This study opens up avenues for exploiting food sources such as D. Hamiltonii. T. arjuna, Tea, A. Marmelos, for applications of novel bioactive molecules with health implications in both prevention and amelioration of degenerative diseases and general well being. The need for several antioxidant assays is also determined in order to relate it to the possible health promoting potential or nutraceutical value of the plant extracts.
Uncontrolled Keywords: Natural antioxidants Decalepis hamiltonii plant extracts.
