Additional Information: | Microbial lipases have a broad spectrum of industrial applications. Microorganisms are preferred as one of the best sources of enzymes. The objective of the project was to optimise suitable media for lipases production, in shake flask experiments. Spore suspension was used as a source of inoculum. Six shake flask experiments are conducted using different media. In the first shake flask experiment using corn steep liquor (CSL) media, the maximum lipase activity obtained was 8.25 U/ml at 48th hour. In the second shake flask experiment using CSL medium the maximum activity obtained was 7.25 U/ml at 48th hour. In the third shake flask experiment the media was yeast extractpeptone-dextrose (YEPD) media and the maximum lipase activity obtained was 13.25 U/ml at 144th hour. In the fourth shake flask experiment the media used was YEPD and the maximum activity was 24.0 U/ml at 144th hour. The fifth shake flask experiment was conducted using czapex dox broth and the maximum activity was at 96th hour viz., 1.50 U/ml. The sixth shake flask experiment was carried out using potato dextrose broth and the lipase activity was maximum at 144th hour i.e., 9.0 U/ml. Among the several media used for lipase production by Aspergillus species, YEPD media was found to be best. |
