Abstract

A brief resume of work done on canning of foods is given, covering Rourkela hot dipped tinplate; Rourkela electrolytic tinplate; corrosion with mango, orange, tomato, potato and ivy gourd products; hard swell in jam cans; sulphur staining and corrosion; assessment of differential tinplate; flexible packaging materials; defects in cans; and future scope.
