Abstract

The W. German ''Dortmund'' production procedure for Scenedesmus acutus (for food and feed use) was evaluated in a pilot plant study under Indian conditions. Tabulated data show that the installation involves very high running costs. Electrical energy consumption depends mainly on the method of drying and could be reduced by using solar energy. The cost structure is very high for Indian contexts.
