Abstract

A strain of Botryodiplodia theobromae Pat., isolated from coconut was found to elaborate an acid protease active at pH 3.0 and stable at pH 4.0 for 1 wk under refrigeration. Its insensitivity to certain inhibiting agents indicates that it may be an acid protease. The enzyme has been partially purified and some of its properties have been studied.
