Abstract

[A potential peroxidase source from Citrus aurantifolia (lime) flavedo callus is reported.] Ammonium sulphate fractionation of lime flavedo callus showed considerable peroxidase activity with hydrogen peroxide and guaiacol as substrates. Activity of the enzyme was comparable to that of Sigma horseradish peroxidase. Citrus callus may be a potential source of commercial peroxidase enzyme.
