Ethyl esters of oleic, palmitic, stearic and linoleic acids and the methyl ester of oleic acid were prepared in their pure form and assayed as assembling scents for the dermestid Trogoderma granarium and as repellents to the tenebrionid Tribolium castaneum. Methyl oleate at 1.5 and 2.1
