Abstract

Ether extracts at two concentrations (10 and 20%) of adults of Tribolium castaneum (Hbst.), Stegobium paniceum (L.) and Callosobruchus chinensis (L.) were tested in the laboratory as attractants or repellents to adults of the same three species in wheat flour. Adults of T. castaneum were repelled by all the extracts except that of C. chinensis at 10%. Adults of C. chinensis were attracted by extracts of their own species and repelled by those of S. paniceum and T. castaneum. No repellent or attractant effects were observed in the tests with adults of S. paniceum.
