Abstract
Currently, fishery by-products are considered as a promising collagen source. The
swim bladder of Indian carp rohu (Labeo rohita) had no commercial value and usually
discarded. The objective of this study was to extract and characterized the pepsin-soluble
collagen (PSC) from the swim bladder of Indian carp rohu. The results indicated that the
yield of PSC was 33.86% on dry weight basis.
