Abstract

Separation of acidogenic and methanogenic stages during anaerobic digestion of tomato processing waste (TP W) has resulted in 80% of carbon conversion to total gas (65% methane) of O-8 m3/kg volatile solids. The process yielded a 40-50%,increase in the rate and yields of methane and total gas production over the single stage process under similar conditions.
