Abstract
The fruit and vegetable processing industry in Australia is firmly established due to the great
demand made on it during the World War. Most of the canning industries are modern and wellplanned
with considerable emphasis on hygienic conditions. In every State, there is Pure Food Act,
which forbids the use of certain chemicals in food and lays down other specific conditions.
