Abstract
Vegetable plants grown in hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) treated soil absorbed this
insecticide which influenced to varying extent the growth and yield. Tomato and koolkhol
contained very little residue (0.4 ppm., Cultivation of tomato in soil containing HCH may not be economical. Chili plant acts as a "catch plant" for HCH.
